No Xbox Game Pass for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV This Year
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV won’t join the Xbox Game Pass this year.
In a colossal $69 billion deal, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard was announced nearly two years ago. This sparked hope among Xbox players for a potential influx of Activision Blizzard games into the lineup. However, a recent tweet from Activision Blizzard has delivered some disappointing news. Neither Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the much-anticipated release, nor the recently launched Diablo IV will join Game Pass this year.

In a tweet, Activision Blizzard addressed the situation.
“It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. As we continue working toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions about whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.

The company clarified, “While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass some time in the course of next year.”

Diablo IV, which launched back in June, garnered positive reviews and had players engrossed in its gameplay.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is open for pre-orders now.
