Hackers Plague PS-Exclusive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta

Modern Warfare 3 players are facing an unexpected challenge in the recent PlayStation-exclusive beta.

The much-anticipated Modern Warfare 3 beta started last weekend, but it appears that PlayStation exclusivity couldn’t deter cheaters. A tweet from @ModernWarzone reveals that cheaters and hackers swiftly infiltrated the new Call of Duty title, using ‘jailbroken and modded PlayStation 4 consoles.

One Twitter user voiced their frustration, saying, ‘Imagine cheating in a BETA.’

Another player added, ‘We’re in trouble now,’ and a different Call of Duty enthusiast noted, ‘I’ve always said the issue isn’t with PC players, but with unscrupulous individuals. Cheaters will cheat, no matter what.’

The situation may worsen when PC players join the fray. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 open beta, was exclusive to PlayStation players until October 10. Following that, a crossplay beta is set for October 12 – 13 and 14 – 16. This will allow Xbox and PC players to join, potentially leading to more such incidents.

For those who can’t participate in the betas, the full release is approaching. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 8, 2023, for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
