Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier who spoke on the MinnMax Show claims the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is being remade by Aspyr Media, another report from Eurogamer seems to back this up.
Aspyr have been behind many re-releases of the Star Wars franchise like; Jedi Knight II, Episode 1 Racer and Republic Commando.
Aspyr was brought by Embracer Group earlier this year to work under Saber Interactive, a studio renowned for their remakes and remasters, including the likes of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and The Witcher 3’s next-gen version.
Schreier previously mentioned that KoTOR remake was in development outside of Electronic Arts (EA) with original developer BioWare, but in the MinnMax show, he confirmed it was being developed by Aspyr instead. He stated, “This is public at this point, I’ve basically confirmed Aspyr – which is the company that’s ported a bunch of KOTOR games – is working on the remake.”
According to Eurogamer, the KoTOR game will be “more of a remake” than a remaster.

The long thought fan-favourite RPG from BioWare portrays a Jedi vs Sith story set around 4,000 years prior to the rise of the Galactic Empire in the 1977’s Star Wars film ‘A New Hope’.
