Take a walk down memory lane thanks to the NQ64 retro gaming bar. Remember those days running wild in the arcade with a few £1 coins playing Time Crisis, House of The Dead, Pac-Man, the list goes on and on, to then be dragged out by your parents who’ve just about had enough? Now you can relive the experience minus the parents unless you’d like to bring them along of course.
The new time capsule-like bar will be taking over the old Club Liv building located in the Northern Quarter venue, just a stone’s throw away from Manchester’s coolest quarter. But inside is where you’ll be transported back to your childhood with retro games greeting you as soon as you walk through the neon illuminated doors.

You can expect to see retro favourites, the bar is host to a vast quantity of infamous titles such as Mortal Combat, Pac Man, Street Fighter II, Tekken and newer games like Guitar Hero. But, it’s not just arcade machines, there’s also Sega Mega Drive, N64, Super Nintendo and an original PlayStation. It’s like the 90’s all over again and the nerd inside is going crazy!
But wait, it gets better, the machines work on a token basis, one token = 1 credit and you can get 15 tokens for just £5! The bar is also a child-free zone so you can rest assured there won’t be any 10-year-olds eyeing you up hoping you lose so they can play.
On to the alcohol, NQ64 has an ever-changing beer menu featuring craft tinnies and local brews. The cocktails are also game-themed such as the Mad Max, Princess Peach and the Root Beer Tapper, to enjoy while spending time in this awesome arcade.
The move-in date for this new site is yet to be announced but you can visit their original bar via the address below.
NQ64 is open seven days a week from 4pm-2am Mon-Fri, and from 12 noon to 2am on Sat-Sun. NQ64, 9 Short St, Manchester, M4 1AA.
