In the lead up to the massive 17.20 patch for Fortnite, Epic Games have released a hotfix adding Alien Nanites, Choppy’s Mythic Ray Gun, Zyg and more.

The Fortnite community have been waiting with bated breath for the 17.20 patch ever since some of its content was leaked ahead of time.

While Epic Games are working tirelessly to prepare for the massive overhaul, they’ve released a small patch to tide them over.

Alien Nanites

Fortnite teased Alien Nanaites before the season started and now they’re finally coming to fruition.

They are multi-purpose which are used like nuts and bolts to upgrade weapons. If you have an SMG, Assault rifle, or Sniper rifle that is Rare or higher you can use the Naniteds to convert them into Kymera Ray Gun, Pulse Rifle and Rail Gun.

They can also be thrown like a grenade to deal damage and create an ‘alien biome’ with low gravity. Upon leaving the biome players will have no-fall damage for a short time.

You can find these Alien Nanites in normal chests and on the floor.

Like the majority of new additions which may make massive changes to the game Alien Nanites have been disabled in competitive playlists.

We believe this is so Epic Games can gauge what tweaks need to happen to balance it out before setting it loose in competitive.

Zyg and Choppy’s Mythic Ray Gun

This update also brings two extraterrestrial NPCs, Choppy and Zyg, you’ll find them roaming around Hydro 16 planting Alien Parasite eggs.

Upon defeating them they’ll drop a new Mythic Ray Gun that is much stronger than the Kymera Ray Gun. This is not an easy task as there are Alien Parasites all around so consider yourselves warned.

Holly Hatchery and other map changes

Alien Biomes and Alien Parasites have taken over Holly Hedges. As a result, it has been renamed Holly Hatchery that the parasites now call home.

The Alien Invasion has also ended the block party at Believer Beach, all that’s left is a load of trash and as conditions worsen it seems as if the map will keep changing.
