Looking for a whole new way to play? How does an open-world Fortnite sound? It’s been four years since Epic Games unleashed Fortnite to the world and it’s been one of the most popular Battle-Royales ever since. And now an open-world spin-off is looking more and more likely.
We’re only a few weeks away from the end of Chapter 2 Season 7 and fans are being drawn to the idea there may be an open-world game that will offer a different spin.
We now have 2 teasers, we can see:
– Possible new weapons?
– Arrow in the back
– A giant monkey in the background
– Temple POIs/Landmarks in the back
All of these hint towards the open world game mode they talked about in the Apple lawsuit but we'll have to wait and see.. pic.twitter.com/nh77y96vWC

Infamous leaker HYPEX posted artwork for some new weapons that look like a giant monkey / Indiana Jones inspired temple, with arrows being fired at fan favourites Jonesy, Peely, Cuddle Team Leader and Fishstick. It may be a bit of a stretch but fans have compared the style that is similar to classic RPGs.
Fortnite fans have responded to HYPEX tweet with:
“This gives Clash Of Clans vibes”
“Will probably be a separate game, but I love the style so much, looking forward to what this could be”
“You know I’m betting it’s gonna be like Minecraft Dungeons”
“Really excited to see what this is, there’s so much Epic could do with Fortnite’s IP”
These leaks come from previous hints surrounding an open-world Fortnite game. In June, when documents leaked from the Epic vs Apple court case that mentioned a “Sandbox Box”.
We believe it’s clear that Epic want to expand beyond Battle Royale style games and an open-world RPG could be the way that they truly break out of this mould.
