EA has officially shared the release date for FIFA 23 with a release window of Autumn 2022, this is the final FIFA they will produce since they first launched in December 1993 on Genesis/Sega Mega Drive.
While FIFA will be moving on to another developer the huge publisher with kick-off EA Sports FC.
Along with the release date window EA has also shared the official Ultimate Edition cover athletes. Featuring Kylian Mbappe for the third year in a row who is joined by Chelsea and Australia star forward Sam Kerr.
This is the final year for the series but the first time a female footballer has ever featured on the cover of a FIFA game.
Line producer Matt Lafreniere told GamesRadar, “Sam Kerr is one of the greatest female footballers out there. She represents Chelsea so well, she represents the Australian national team so well, and there’s a World Cup coming up. Her personality and values reflect who we are as a company, and what FIFA is as a franchise. We are really excited to have her as a part of the EA Sports and FIFA team.”
We look forward to getting our hands on the new FIFA 23 but are also excited to see what the future holds for both EA and FIFA’s new developers.
