Hogwarts Legacy, the long-awaited magical RPG sounds like it’s further away than originally planned.
The RPG was first announced back in 2020 with an extremely vague release window of ‘2021’. However, it soon became clear that Avalanche Software, the company developing the title needed more time to perfect the game and it was delayed until 2022.

There have been a bunch of leaks and reports suggesting that the game will be released in the first half of this year leading many HP fans to believe the game they’ve been waiting years for is almost complete. But it seems that Legacy will be delayed another year, at least.
This is definitely not what the world of wizardry fans want to hear but, I think we’ve learned from the like of Cyberpunk 2077 that launching uncompleted games is a BIG NO.
Eurogamer reported on the Sacred Symbol’s podcast that host Colin Moriarty heard that “behind the scenes, the game isn’t coming out this year” and “it’s in some sort of trouble”.
This is a leak and should be treated as one, there has been no official statement from Warner Bros. on the plans to delay or any sort of trouble.
Colin refused to go into detail on what kind of trouble the game is in, but as it’s such a big game to undertake/develop we can only imagine that the development process isn’t going as smoothly as expected.
However, since we haven’t really heard anything about the game since the trailer I don’t think it’s a very good sign.
There are rumours going around at the moment that we will see a fresh look at Hogwarts Legacy at next months PlayStation event where we hope to hear more details about the game and release date.
