Fortnite Season 8 Leaks, Rumours and What We Know So Far

What We Know So Far The Cube Returns

Let’s start with something we know; season 7 officially ends on 12th September, where there will be a live event that takes place and a matter of hours later Fortnite season 8 will officially start. The live event will be centred around the fight against the aliens, lead by Doctor Slone and how the alien mothership will be taken down. Epic Games have confirmed that this will be the end to the alien invasion, concluding season 7’s story so far. The end of season event and the start of a new season always brings around some great surprises, twists and turns, so why don’t we take a look at what we might have in store…

The Aliens Are Coming Down!

One thing is certain about the end of season 7 and the transition into season 8, and that is that the alien mothership has to be taken down. After sucking up Coral Castle and Slurpy Swamp, the mothership is making its way to Corny Complex, where we know there is a bomb hidden underneath, made by Doctor Slone, ready to be sucked up into the mothership. Leaks have already suggested that in the Fortnite season 8 map there will be a point of interest named “crash site” which presumably will be where the massive ship will leave its impact on the map. Previous seasons have seen such massive destruction from the likes of Dusty Depot being blown to pieces in season 4 or the Spire’s destruction at the end of season 6.

The Ancient Egypt Theme

Season 8 may be taking us back to the pyramids

Found something with @tonxim: We might get a Mummy skin in Season 8 (could be scrapped). It matches the theme of a POI coming in Season 8.

The POIs/Landmarks are (there's most likely more but these are the only ones that got leaked):
– Pyramid
– Cubes
– Crash Site

The latest leaks suggest the theme of Fortnite season 8 will be centred around ancient Egypt with a point of interest on the map being the pyramids. Other points of interest that have been leaked are the crash site (presumably from the massive spaceship falling from the sky) and cubes. Cubes is a call back to 3 years ago (August 24, 2018) when the Cube (aka Kevin) first joined Fortnite through a rift in the sky. In season 5 the cube travelled around the map at a rate of 1 revolution every 1 hour 43 minutes, creating anti-gravity domes and printing runes. The cube was also a key part of 2018’s Fortnitemares, which was the Halloween event, where the cube created Cube Monsters (much like zombies) which attacked players during the Halloween event. With the return of the cube, being so close to Halloween, we expect something similar to the Fortnitemares with either Cube Monsters making a return, or perhaps it could raise the dead of the ancient Egyptians and we could have an island overrun with mummies! The introduction of the ancient Egyptians is expected to be brought through one of the interdimensional rifts like the cube.

Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass

The battle pass is possibly one of the most hyped parts of any new season, with players being able to level up, unlock new skins, characters and emotes across over 100 tiers just for playing the game and completing missions. What is included in the new battle pass is always sort after information, therefore data miners have been busy looking through the Fortnite files to find out what we can expect.

NARUTO! The original leaks about Naruto coming to Fortnite came from the Apple vs Epic lawsuit where the information surrounding acquiring the rights for the character were leaked through court documents. The skin of the character, along with varieties based on the characters appearances in various TV shows is said to be coming to the battle pass, akin to the Rick Sanchez various skins in season 7’s battle pass.

All the above plus much much more will be coming to Fortnite as part of season 8, starting 12th September. But what are you looking forward to the most? Or is there anything we’ve not talked about that you would like to see?
