Below you will find all the information we know about Season 2; all the weapons, operators and maps coming to both Cold War and Warzone.
When is the Season 2 update expected to happen?
The start of Season 2 for Warzone and Cold War lands on 24th February between 5am and 7am GMT. So you have less than a week to grind those battle pass tiers.

Overview of Season 2
This image is jam-packed with info so we’ve broken it down. In Season 2 we can expect:
- Operators + 4
- Guns + 6
- Multiplayer maps + 4
- Multiplayer modes + 3
- New Zombies mode = Outbreak
- New Prestige levels + 4
- Warzone modes: Exfiltration and Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme
Who are the new operators?
As you may have noticed in the cinematic trailer there were three new operators: Wolf, Riva and Naga. Frank Woods also makes an appearance and it seems the team are in Loas on a mission to rescue Russell Adler from Stitch. However, Naga suggests he is already on route to Verdansk, another Cold War / Warzone crossover.
Naga: “Naga uses his established supply lines to move WMDs around the globe, and personally delivers vengeance to those who dare to stop or intercept his contraband”
Maxis: “Maxis prepares to join Requiem on the frontlines to fend off outbreaks throughout the Ural Mountains”
Wolf: “Entering service on his 18th birthday in memory of his fallen brother, he now stalks more dangerous prey as an elite Delta Force sniper”
Rivas: “Dedicates her life to ridding her country of the Cartel’s influence, using guerrilla tactics to weaken them by any means necessary”
New Season 2 Weapons
- FARA 83: Assault rifle – Unlocked battle pass tier 15
- LC10: SMG – Unlocked battle pass tier 31
- ZRG 20mm: Sniper
- R1 Shadowhunter: Crossbow
- E-tool: Melee
- Machete: Melee
The FARA 83 and the LC10 are unlocked via battle tier level and the other 4 by completing challenges or can be purchased from the store.
New Cold War Multiplayer Maps
Apocalypse – Small to medium-sized | 6v6
The Loa jungle cartel base in the epicentre of the Golden Triangle: Apocalypse.
Mansion – Small | 2v2 & 3v3
Set in Havana, Cuba inside the grounds of the Hefe Mansion based on the campaign’s “End of the line” mission.
Golova – Large | Multi-team
Based on a traditional Russian village within the picturesque Ural Plains.
Miami Strike – Medium | 6v6
A day time take of the map Miami.
New Game Modes
Only Gun Game will be available in launch week with the other two expected mid-season.
- Gun Game: Kill and progress to a new weapon, complete the 20 weapon cycle first to win.
- Stockpile: A cross between Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint, collect tags and deposit them.
- Hardpoint: 10 squad multi-team hardpoint capturing hills which rotate every 2 minutes.
Outbreak Zombie Mode
Activision stated: “Outbreak takes place across massive play spaces throughout the Ural Mountains, packed with new enemies, team objectives, player rewards, and intel to discover on foot, in vehicles, or by jump pads,”
Zombie additions: Ammo mod Shatter Blast, field upgrade Frenzied Guard, two new skill tiers and 2 new vehicles.
New COD: Warzone Mode
Warzone isn’t getting an entirely new map as of yet but there will be two new game modes and new points of interest.
Exfiltration
This will be landing mid-season and is all about getting to a chopper ASAP so no more fighting your way to the last circle, interesting. You have to hold on to a portable radio device that calls for exfil, hold on to it long enough to win. But, there’s a twist, when it’s in your possession you are marked on the map.
Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme
Much like it is now but with 90 total players all being able to respawn if one of their team members is still alive.
