After a boat of rumours about the upcoming Battlefield 2042 not having a battle royale mode, developers have now revealed that it will!
The latest EA Play Live presentation dived into a whole host of EA games one being Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield fans have been waiting 3 years for the next instalment and after many conflicting rumours around a battle royale mode, fans didn’t know what to believe.
The majority of fans want to see a battle royale game mode and others are completely against the idea. Personally, I don’t see the harm in having one and it would be an interesting twist to the Battlefield series.
However, this battle royale mode is suggested to be completely different to the popular battle royales we know and love or loathe today and was originally named “high stakes, squad-based game mode” by Oskar Gabrielson the General Manager of DICE.
The new addition is now called ‘Hazard Zone’, Gabrielson said: “It’s a really contemporary mode. It’s also something the team has been thinking about for many years – we’re really looking forward to showing it to the world. It has some really special components, and it really kind of leans into the superpowers of Battlefield and DICE at the same time”.
Nothing else was released with regards to the battle royale but we’ve been promised a good look before release.
