We’ve had a plethora of zombie survival games and now we get to welcome an alien-themed survival game based on the movie Alien. We couldn’t be more excited!
Aliens: Fireteam is a co-op 3rd person shooter where you plus two others have to survive and fight through hoards of extraterrestrial creatures to complete the mission and get out alive. Created by San Jose based game studio, Cold Iron Studios and developed in collaboration with Disney’s 20th Century Games.
Scheduled for worldwide release this summer for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, and Steam. No details on price have been confirmed as of yet, we’re assuming around the £50 mark.
Players will immerse themselves into the role of Colonial Marine aboard the USS Endeavor, tasked with answering distress calls from distant colonies. The game is set 23 years after the original Alien films.
In the game, you’ll be deployed into locations swarming with aliens and have to battle your way through four different campaigns in collaboration with two friends or AI teammates. There are over 20 different intelligent enemy types including the notorious Xenomorphs the Alien creatures from the movies along with Weyland-Yutani Synthetics.
In Aliens: Fireteam players will have a choice of five different classes, an impressive arsenal of customisable weapons and mods, advancement systems and character progression to tip the scales in your favour. You are also able to tweak each mission with unique Challenge Cards offering new experiences every time.
Cold Iron Studios head Craig Zinkievich said “This is the action game Aliens fans have been waiting for, hordes of different Xenomorphs swarming over ceilings and across walls, surrounding your team and striking from every angle.”
